  1. We all know the benefits of protecting our eyes from UV rays but as a fashion accessory, our decision to buy a pair of sunglasses often rides on how they look.Cue lots of trying on and puzzled looks in the mirror!

KUKShades is here to help this month, with a couple of simple rules to follow to help you choose the perfect pair.

Firstly, you need to determine your FACE SHAPE. Most of us roughly fall into the following four categories: oval, square, heart or round.

Then you need to look for a pair of sunglasses that CONTRAST your face shape.

For example: If you have a round face you are more likely to suit angular frames. If your face shape is more defined with a strong jaw line, then rounder, softer frames are going to suit you better.

Heart and oval shaped faces can, pretty much, get away with most styles, as long as you follow the next rule!

Always think about PROPORTION. Sunglasses are not 'one size fits all' accessories. It is best to choose a pair that covers you from cheekbone to cheekbone. In other words we don’t need large frames swamping our face or small frames that might distort our features.

We have a lot of experience in helping our customers find their perfect pair and if you want us to check measurements or details, please get in touch.

Sunglasses are lots of fun and are a great way to enhance an outfit or express your mood. Plus, we are all different, so our last piece of advice... don't be afraid to go a bit wild with your style if you want to!

Let’s hope this summer brings lots of chances to rock your shades!

  2. Navy blue is one of those classic colours, often associated with nautical fashion looks. At KUKShades we stock a range of navy accessories and thought we'd put together two looks that might inspire you to think of navy a little differently.

    feb style file navy

First - a stylish 'promenade' inspired set, featuring the Hampton beach bag by Pia Rossini. Teamed with a cute collered shift dress and a pair of pumps, with gold detail to complemet the gold embelishmets on the bag. Perhaps you'd wear this look for a quiet lunch at a pavement cafe or for a bit of shopping. We think it's just the sort of thing you'd pack for a cruise - what do you think?

Our second set has a relaxed feel but looks just as stunning! We have paired the navy Elsie & Arthur cotton beach bag with the gorgeous 'Altlantis' sarong by Pia Rossini. Already you'll look fantastic arriving at the beach and together these two items from KUKShades are just £27 - so you'll feel fantastic having grabbed a bargain. Add a simple pair of flip flops, your swimsuit, a pair of shades and you're sorted.

However you wear navy, we hope you enjoy having fun mixing accessories and creating different looks - we have more to choose from in our store... so what are you waiting for?
